Romsey
(Next to Romsey Rapids)
At
last the park is complete! The park is a huge
improvement on the previous setup, much better
lines, transitions and no lips on the bottoms
of the ramps. The park play's host to a 4ft
mini with 5ft tombstone, a 4m wide platform
off that which leads to 2 sloped blocks, which
in turn lead onto an 8ft vert wall with bank
on one side. In between there is a small block/manual
pad with a small flat bank on one side allowing
you to come up the bank, grind the top and back
in. Next to the mini is a 7ft qp leading to
a launch box set back from the mini slightly.
Next to that is a 4ft qp leading to an apex
ramp (basically a driveway but with no flat
top, a hip and a block), that then leads on
to a normal driveway with kinked block, and
that finishes off with another 4ft qp. The final
touches are the grind block with 2 manual pads
on one side (with a gap in between), a flat
double coping rail and a wallie bar (a bar sticking
out of the ground at a 45 degree angle). Overall
the park is really fun to ride, the ledges are
perfect and the transitions on all the quarters
are perfect. The only downsides are the transition
from the quarter pipe to vert wall isn't flush
so doesn't feel nice to ride, the apex ramp
is too small to use as a hip and is pretty pointless,
and the wallie bar is only really good for a
few skateboarding tricks. All these are overshadowed
by the rest of the ramps though, by far it's
the best outdoor park in the area. Go check
it out!!
