Andy Garrett Interview

So Mr Garrett, we realise it's gotta be painful to type at the moment so really appreciating you doing this interview! First up how are you doing? How's the hand?

I'm all good; hand's still hurting a bit but will be fine.

You were soooo close to that double backflip, any likelihood of you trying it again?

Definitely, I am determined to nail it.

So let's backtrack a little bit, how did you first hear about Streetboarding?

Anger Management anyone?

I first saw Streetboarding when a friend introduced it to me when he was Snakeboarding outside my house and I have been hooked ever since.

What caught your eye about it?

Having always had a passion for snowboarding I liked that the same tricks could be put down on dry land and it looks good!

Over the years you've done really well in contests and been UK Champ a couple of times. How did that feel?

Brilliant! I couldn't believe it when I won UK Champ because it was such a close competition between me and Sam Cooke.

What would you say is your best accomplishment to date?

I'd have to say, coming second in Best Trick in the 2006 World Championships and being the UK champion in 2004.

FS Melon at King's Park

So outside of Streetboarding, what else do you get up to?

I play football for my local town every Saturday and trampoline quite a lot. Obviously I love snowboarding and I party hard!

We hear you're a bit of a beast on the trampoline?

I came from a gymnastics background and moving onto trampoline linked up with the Streetboarding moves and recently did a triple backflip on the trampoline!

Triple?? Heavy!
