You probably all know by now that Josh sustained a heavy injury a couple of weeks ago at the Creation Skate Park overnight jam. After colliding with a bmxer in the mini ramp, at first looking like a cut requiring stitches, it eventually became apparent as it started swelling and his shin muscle popping out of the cut that it was far more serious.
Josh is now back home resting up and we caught up with him to get a few words. Here's what he had to say:
So Josh, first off it's great to see you're out of hospital and back home, how's the recovery going and did you get a definitive answer from the doctors as to what it was you actually did?
Yea its good to be home cos hospital was really boring! Yea goin well, I'm driving every1 in my family nuts because I'm getting bored! But I'm also getting pretty good at guitar hero 3!! ha. Umm well, sliced through some muscle and sliced a bit more muscle away from the tendon.
So an operation to have it all re-attached eh?
Yeap. Made a bit of a mess.
So what actually happened? You went up to the creation overnight jam with Paul and we heard about a collision with a bmxer? How'd that come about?
Yea that was about it really. There was a bmxer in the mini and i was waiting on top for my turn, then all of a sudden 6 guys with guns came from nowhere n i got shot in the leg, haha no jokes, he got on to the top deck and put his feet down so i assumed he had stopped like any1 else would so i rolled in and so did he. I recon it was his stuntpeg that went into my leg.
Damn, that's gotta suck. Any ideas on how long you're out for? And what are your plans for when it is healed? Will we see Mr. Newman back out there killing it with rodeos all over the place?
Umm well hopefully not too long. The cast is already knackered cos I've been walking around on it. So I'm thinking not much longer but once its off I'm gonna take it easy for a few weeks, get down the gym n get the strength back in it then hell yea ill be back throwing myself about as usual but I'll be a bit more wary of bmxers!
Ah, get down into Adam's domain! Hell yeah, and maybe wear shin pads in the future eh?

What did the bmxer say when u collided? Was he apologetic about it or just a complete idiot?
lol i dunno he was on the floor, he peaced out more than i did hahahahha

He was rollin around on the floor when i got up
