So essentially making up for the loss in friction with the ground with extra upper body force Yeah exactly, which for some reason I didn't expect haha. 2. The fact that you can't swivel the plates, which
admittedly you don't really notice until you think about it. It's
like riding a Loadie with broken pivots. |

Moving onto the subject of Streetboarding, when did you first start and how did you first hear about it? Man, pretty much back when it started kinda 96/97 time I think. I just saw some guys doing it at a local kids club thing I used to go to. I picked it up one day and decided to learn it. I got a comp soon after and didn't really do anything other than roll around. I then stopped and started up again 99/2000 and on and off since. To be honest, I can't really remember - since I've started it has seemed to be random periods of off and on, more on than off but I really didn't skate much whilst I was at Uni. We would imagine you'd hardly have time to Yeah well to be honest I was getting waste more. In fact I'd say
that it is actually a lot harder to skate with a full time job.
I think that my problem is that I don't get to skate for ages over
winter and I kind of forget how awesome it actually is to skate,
then when I do get into it again I kick myself for not keeping it
up. I'd probably not suck so much if I actually consistently skated!
- Anyway, I've kinda realised that and I'm really trying to keep
it up. I think going to NZ Snowboarding is a reflection of that. Dude, you know the answer to that! Mini for sure, just can't get enough of the coping tech. Mini is awesome, mini's with spines are even better. Ledge probably comes second. I can't handle rail, it makes me poo myself. |

That's not what you want from life really. What would you say your favourite thing about Streetboarding is? I always used to love the competition from skating with other people, it's always awesome to push each other to learn new stuff and generally have a great time. I have come to realise through moving away and not always being able to skate with others that I reckon why I skate and my favourite thing about it is just that it is fun, I just love skating...haha that sounds lame! But also the people you meet in Streetboarding are mostly legends in some way or another! |
