Alan Shaw Interview

There's no better group of people that's for sure. Favourite riders?

Off the top of my head, old skool - Iain Calvert (smooth as...), and I've always thought Max Maier was awesome. I love all the riders out there man really, Spit just amazes me on rail, Gabi, Sergi, Kamm, Ingo "for slides and grinds" Fohre, Brinton is an obvious, Max Anderson etc. etc....man just everyone. I don't have a favourite - anyone who makes me appreciate their skills.

Ok a few quickfires before we depart.

Favourite food: Oh man I dunno...roast lamb with mint sauce.
Pies. Gotta love 'em.

haha of course.

Favourite movie: I've got a couple, but fight club was the first movie that got me thinking about it loads after it had finished.

Favourite band: At the moment, The Lawrence Arms.

Best trip you've gone on (skating or otherwise): My last snowboarding trip was amazing, although technically the worst considering all the stuff that went wrong. Worlds in Nantes was just amazing...

Tipple of choice: Westons Organic Cider.

Best memory (again skating or otherwise): Probably being in Cuba and finding out my university results - just much better than I could have ever have hoped for. Needless to say I got very very drunk that night.

Ok so just before we go we gotta say a word about streetboardweb, what's the score there? Is the site coming back?

Maybe - just to put everyone straight, for the past year I've been working as a web developer 8:30 to 5, creating and maintaining my own site quickly ducks out of the priority list for things to do after 5pm when I've been creating and administering sites at work all day! I want to start updating it again, I reckon I will pretty soonish and not having a job will probably help. Either way it'll still be up there for everyone to see and use no matter how out of date it is!

Excellent stuff. Thanks for spending some time with us for the interview, good luck with the travelling and keep us updated with your goings on! Any last words?
