Streetboard Tune Up
How to correctly set up your GrossO Bindings.
Continuing on with our Tune Up articles, for those of you who have just bought, or are thinking of buying some GrossO Bindings - here is how to set them up properly. Like with any bindings, it is essential these are placed in the correct position to give your board the longest life possible. The GrossO bindings are unique in that they are the only binding system to have more than one option in how you want to set them up. They can be fixed to your board in either the "Classic" or "ProGross" set up and both are detailed below.

Which set up you choose depends on which tools you will need. The "Classic" set up is the more simple to fit so requires less time and tools and the "ProGross" set up is a little more complicated and requires more tools (it does however provide you with the most comfortable set up of any binding system on the market).
Below are the installation instructions for the "Classic" set up, if you're wanting the "ProGross" set up then please click here for instructions.
You will need a 5/16th spanner, a Philips head screwdriver, a flat head screwdriver, a drill with 6mm drill bit and a 4mm allen key. Again, this is all of the tools needed to fit your bindings, if you choose to set the bindings up in the "Classic" set up you won't need all of these.

In your pack you should have all the fitting hardware - 12 large bolts, 12 washers, 12 nuts, 4 smaller black bolts, 4 screws, 4 t-nuts (or sick bolts), 4 WSA size bolts, 4 aluminium brackets, 2 foam shock pads and the 2 leather bindings. At first glance this can look rather daunting to have so many parts, however; like the tools if you don't go for the "ProGross" set up then you won't need all these parts. Sometimes the pack above doesn't include the 4 WSA bolts as standard. For the "ProGross" set up to work it is vital these are included so check with your retailer before you buy, to make sure these are included. All GrossO bindings purchased from Flipside UK include these bolts.
Firstly we are going to concentrate on the "Classic" set up. It is actually almost identical to setting up Frontal's Softcore Bindings so it is simple and quick to do.
"Classic" Set Up.
For this set up you will not need the following parts from your pack - the 2 rubber shock pads, the WSA bolts, the 4 screws, the 4 sick bolts, the 4 smaller black bolts and 4 of the larger bolts, washers and nuts.
Your feet want to be directly centred over the Kingpin bolt and truck axle so that the shock is absorbed through the trucks. Too far either to the outside or inside of your crossbar will put unnecessary pressure on your bar and could cause it to break prematurely.

Place your foot on top of the kingpin and truck axle area, then place one side of the binding snug up against your shoe. Using one of the included brackets, place up against your shoe on top of the leather and bolt in place in the desired hole on the footplate. The bindings have multiple hole choices on them so you can bolt them through which set of holes best match your shoe size.
